Bamboo - Working Details

Our Bamboo furniture is the result of the carefull, exclusively hand made work under premisses we introduced as to meet requirements of our own. We set our goals and the objectives which we carefully follow. Every and even the tiniest detail must follow these quality criteria.

Both the visual and the esthetical impression have to satisfy the expectations, yet the natural appeal of bamboo has to be preserved.

Not commonly manufactured bamboo in its rough, rustical appearance, reminding on a holiday spent on the tropical beach - but rather in precision work processed and visualy attractive Bamboo is predestined to create a noble ambience.

Bamboo - Kinds and Colours
As to let yellow bamboo appear in its warm, decent look there is no artificial colouring or any other make up after having removed the skin.

For some items we used black bamboo. In contrary to the yellow one, this kind of bamboo (bambu hitam) has to be used unpeeled, as it is its skin giving it the characteristic dark brown colour.

As this skin is thin and sensitive and the lacquer does not adhere properly, we renounced the usage of the natural black bamboo. Instead, dark brown stain is applied to the peeled and smoothed yellow bamboo, giving it the appearance of the black bamboo.

Pole Terminators
The kind of terminating the cane ends and the type of connection are model dependent.

Examples from our quality work:

A speciality is the use of Rattan Palm Core yealding very attractive and regular windings (left fig.)

Rustical appearance is achieved with Seagrass Rope (right fig.) in different sizes and patterns, as well as with Coconut Palm Rope (ijuk).

Leather Windings are made of hand-cut leather stripes and may be left either natural (beige) or processed with customized colours

Hand made and polished wood is used with some models. The reddish Mahony or Teak Wood offer a beautifull contrast to the warm yellow bamboo colour.

Exterior Covering
Hand cut bamboo slats are used for covering exterior areas with various traditional patterns. Alternatively we apply fine Rattan Carpet.

Interior Covering
Inside parts of cabinets and chests of drawers are laid out with fine woven Bamboo Carpet.
